Dr. Alex Fleury received his Masters of Science Degree in Oral Biology and

Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental

Medicine. He received his DDS Degree in 1984 from the University of São Paulo.

Dr. Fleury served as Director of Predoctoral Endodontics for 6 years at both

Nova Southeastern University School of Dental Medicine in Florida and Baylor

College of Dentistry. He currently serves as Assistant Professor at Baylor College

of Dentistry, working with Endodontic Residents.

Of particular pride is being named the recipient of the “Edward E. Osetek

Award” for best new Endodontic Educator of the year by the American

Association of Endodontists. In addition, Dr. Fleury is honored to have been the

recipient of the “Richard F. Weiss Achievement Award presented by the Louis I.

Grossman Study Club (University of Pennsylvania). He also served on the

Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics, and as well serves as the

Director of Educational Resources for Real World Endodontics.

Dr. Fleury is currently in the full-time private practice of Endodontics in Dallas,

Texas.

Benjamin is a second-generation dental CPA. He studied and received his masters degree in accounting at Brigham Young University with an emphasis in tax. Benjamin is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Managerial Accountant. Benjamin is the founder of Thrive CPA, PLLC and Pacific Wealth Advisory, LLC both firms specialize in helping Dental and Medical practice owners across Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Alaska with their personal and practice finances. Benjamin lives in Spokane with his wife and 5 children

Raised as an Eastern Washington farm boy, Dan’s education is electronic engineering,

and his background is in the computer industry but for more than thirty years his

passion has been speaking and educating in the fields of regulatory compliance and

safety. He has lectured to audiences throughout the United States and in Canada. Dan

presents a refreshing, simplified approach to bureaucracy and the “real world”

application of regulations. Since joining Harris Biomedical in 2000, Dan has become a

familiar name to the healthcare community. He is recognized for his compliance

expertise regarding infection control, HIPAA, WISHA, and Centers for Disease Control

recommendations. As a professional speaker, Emcee, and bureaucratic problem solver,

he has received many awards for his work, including a Presidential Point of Light.

Dr. Herb Moskowitz is the Chairman and Co-Founder of ioTech International. He is

the co-author of ioTech's U.S. patent and global patent applications. He previously

founded and served as Chairman and CEO of Advanced Tissue Sciences and Life

Medical Sciences, two publicly traded medical technology companies. He has also

practiced clinical dentistry for more than 25 years and is a graduate of the

University of Tennessee Dental School.

Through geriatric house call dentistry, clinicians provide dental care when, where and how it meets the individual patient’s needs. Joy V. Poskozim DDS FSCD CDP, a general dentist and national speaker teaches dental and medical audiences what they need to know and what they need to do to provide mobile dental care to patients in the comfort of their home environments. Dr. Joy’s true passion is being an advocate for the geriatric population. She is the dental director for several nursing care facilities as well as a house call dentist. She has been in private practice for over 20 years, practicing integrative health general dentistry at her office on the northwest side of Chicago, and has been performing dental procedures on the home-bound for 10 years. Through this experience Dr. Poskozim has earned her Fellowship with the Special Care Dental Association Geriatric Council. Dr. Joy has been treating senior community residents in the comfort of their own rooms for over ten years. During this time, not only has she been making house calls across Chicagoland, but also educating certified nursing assistants, caregivers, nurses, and administrators. Dr. Poskozim has written extensively on the subject of geriatric house call dentistry. Dr. Joy is a 1990 graduate of Marquette University, and New York University College of Dentistry in 1994. She completed a GPR from Woodhull Medical Center in 2000 where she was awarded Resident of the Year.

Kay has been in the dental industry for over 30 years working as a dental assistant, dental assisting educator, and currently as a clinical efficiency consultant at Zirc Dental Products. She enjoys speaking and training clinical systems to help practices become safe, happy, and efficient.  She has authored four children’s dental books and has written several articles for various dental publications.  Kay has served on the Minnesota Dental Assisting Board and is a member of the Speaker Consultant Network, AADOM Speaker Consultant Alliance, and eAssist Consultant Network.

Lancette VanGuilder, BS, RDH, PHEDH, CEAS, FADHA  is a complete health dental

hygienist committed to improving practitioner and patient health while bridging the medical-dental divide.  She is an internationally recognized continuing education speaker, a clinician, airway ambassador, business owner, non-profit founder, public health advocate/vaccinator and certified ergonomic assessment specialist. Lancette has received numerous awards for her contributions to dentistry. She is passionate about increasing access to care, improving practitioner and patient health and building medical-dental collaboration.  Lancette is the current Vice-President of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association.

Creating a secure plan for his own family is what originally led Loyd to look into financial planning as a career in college.  “My initial anxiety turned into a passion for helping individuals and families align their wealth to achieve their most important life goals.”  After completing a Business Finance degree and an investment management internship, Loyd set his sights on working as a financial advisor with Financial Freedom for Dentists. His career path began with helping in client meetings, to becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner, and now working as an Associate Financial Advisor.  Beyond helping clients, Loyd continues to sharpen his skills, recently receiving his Chartered Retirement Plan CounselorTM designation.  “I am privileged to be surrounded by co-workers who share that same passion for comprehensive financial planning."  Outside of work, Loyd is currently enrolled in a Masters in Personal Financial Planning program and is an avid sports enthusiast who loves spending time with his wife Katie and their two children.

His background in 2D/3D digital imaging and photography includes over 10 years of experience in taking photos for the video game industry where he was part of Microsoft’s “Salt Lake Games” division working as a Lead Photographer / Digital Artist during the release of the first XBox.  He traveled all over the world photographing real world sports locations, and environments that were later digitized into game levels for many different XBox sports titles.

When he left gaming, he returned to Utah State University to finish an undergrad degree, then attended dental school at the University of Michigan where he received his dental degree in 2010.  He then came to Washington to do a one year A.E.G.D. residency with the Northwest Dental Residency Program.  He is now the Program Director for that same residency program which is sponsored by the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic system hosting residents in FQHC clinics all over the Eastern side of the state.  He now uses his extensive experience with photography to teach those all over the dental field from the post-doctoral residents in the program, to many other groups, practices, study clubs, and dental conferences all around the state.  This includes all of you here today at the INDC 2024.

Nicholas Freuen DDS MD, a practitioner with dual distinctions of DDS and MD, is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

With a commitment to education, Dr. Freuen serves as an Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, nurturing the growth of aspiring dental professionals. As the founder and operator of Spokane Oral Surgery, he takes pride in the recent designation as a "X-Guide Center of Excellence," a testament to the precision and innovation embedded in his practice.

Actively contributing to the dental community, Dr. Freuen is a proactive member of ADA, WSDA, and SDDS. Stacey Chay joined the EWU School of Social Work in 2011 as a Faculty Field Instructor and adjunct instructor. She currently serves as the Program Director for the Spokane-based MSW part-time program through EWU. She has an A.S. in Paralegal Studies, specializing in Landlord-Tenant Law, a B.S. in Psychology, and a BASW. She received her MSW from Eastern Washington University in 2003. She has worked in several practice settings including Child Welfare, Frontier Behavioral Health, and the Spokane County Regional Support Network. Her practice interests include behavioral health and substance use disorders, suicide prevention, law and ethics, and policy. She is a national trainer in the areas of suicide assessment, treatment, management and prevention, and behavioral health.

Dr. Taylor Whittaker first began practicing hot yoga during college as a way to deal with stress and simultaneously workout. Upon her acceptance to the University of Washington School of Dentistry, she decided to also become a yoga instructor and earned her RYT-200 hour certification through Global Vinyasa. For the last 8 years, she has taught hundreds of power, vinyasa, and hatha style classes. Taylor met her husband in dental school and followed him to his hometown of Spokane upon their graduation in 2020. Today, she splits her time between raising their toddler, teaching yoga at Beyoutiful Hot Yoga, and practicing at the family business- Whittaker Family Dentistry.

Trina Poulsen-Valdez, RDH, BSDH is a Seattle native. She found her passion for Dentistry in high school as a dental assistant. She went on to pursue her AAS in 1989 and BSDH in Dental Hygiene in 2003. In 1993, Trina served as President of the Washington Dental Hygienists’ Association guiding the growth and success of the profession and has held many leadership roles. As SADHA Advisor she has mentored dental hygiene students and taught at Shoreline Community College Dental Hygiene Program. Trina is a trained facilitator in mindset, leadership and diversity and inclusion. In her 40 years in Dentistry, Trina’s influence includes clinician, educator, speaker, and Co-founder of Infinite Hygiene Consulting which provides continued education and practice management for dental professionals throughout the United States.

Santiago Valdez, RDH of Snohomish, WA has almost 30 years in Dentistry. Allison has been with Delta Dental since 2021, she started in customer service and moved into the Provider Ambassador position in October of 2023. Dr. Bharathi Devi Myneni, BDS is a 2002 graduate of Periodontology from the School of Dentistry, OHSU, Portland, Oregon. Prior to attending OHSU, she received a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from R.V. Dental College, Bangalore, India. Dr. Myneni is currently Practicing full time at Willamette Dental Group, Tigard and is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Graduate Periodontology Clinic at the Dental School, OHSU, Portland. She is also working as an instructional faculty for AEGD residents, YFVWC, Yakima. She had presented at national and international conferences and won 2 research awards. She had published articles on periodontology and implant related topics in peer reviewed journals. She is a member of the American Association of Periodontology, the American Board of Periodontology and the Academy of osseointegration.

Lisa Mayo graduated with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from Baylor College of Dentistry and a master's degree in healthcare administration from Ohio University. She is currently enrolled in a doctoral program for healthcare administration with Franklin University. She serves as the Academic Chair for Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting, and Surgical Technology at Dallas College.

Lisa has taught hundreds of continuing education courses for dental and medical professionals since 2006 and has published peer-review, continuing education courses, articles, and white papers for the Canadian Dental Journal, Dental Economics, Dental Learning, Dimensions of Dental Hygiene, Access, Medicom, StudentRDH, Penn Well, and RDH. She has contributed to chapters to textbooks and just released her first full-length textbook published by Jones & Bartlett entitled “Power Instrumentation for the Dental Professional”.

Mark Donaldson received his baccalaureate degree from the University of British Columbia and his Doctorate in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Washington. He has practiced as a clinical pharmacy specialist, clinical coordinator and director of pharmacy services at many healthcare organizations in both Canada and the United States.  He is currently Associate Principal of Clinical Pharmacy for Vizient’s Advisory Solutions, and lives in Whitefish, Montana. Dr. Donaldson is a Clinical Professor at the University of Montana, Clinical Associate Professor at the Oregon Health & Sciences University, and affiliate faculty in Dentistry at UBC. He has lectured internationally to both dental and medical practitioners focusing on dental pharmacology and therapeutics and is a leader in the field.

Dr. Donaldson has published numerous peer-reviewed works and textbook chapters. He serves on the Editorial Board for the Journal of the American Dental Association and is the 2016 recipient of the Academy of General Dentistry’s Dr. Thaddeus Weclew Award. In 2019 he was conferred by the Canadian Dental Association (CDA) with the “Special Friend of Canadian Dentistry Award.” This award is given to an individual outside of the dental profession in appreciation for exemplary support or service to the profession as a whole. Nate’s passion is helping dentists use their “finances as a resource to help them achieve their life goals.” Nate became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner in 1999, and joined a national registered investment advisory firm, eventually directing branch offices in Charlotte and Seattle. He received a Master's Degree from the College for Financial Planning and is a NAPFA Registered Financial Advisor. For over two decades he has helped dentists with investment management or financial planning needs. Nate founded Financial Freedom for Dentists, now an SEC Investment Advisory firm, to provide comprehensive financial planning advice with academically validated investment strategies.  Nate has spoken at several dental societies and other groups of dentists in the Pacific Northwest. He lives near the mountains just east of Seattle since 2005 where he loves spending time with his wife of 30 years and 5 children in the beautiful outdoors.

Ryan Vet was raised in the suburbs of Chicago. As a young boy, he dabbled with various entrepreneurial ventures ranging from the typical lemonade stand to a line of trading cards and a neighborhood newspaper. At age 14, Vet launched a multi-national marketing firm that specialized in working with non-profit organizations. He scaled the organization to work with over 200 clients in 25 different countries.

Since then, Vet has risen to executive leadership roles at multiple companies as well as hold advisory board roles in several companies and non-profits. At the core, Vet is a passionate entrepreneur. As such, his experiences have led him to launch several startups and act as angel investor in others.

Sarah Jackson, MS, RDH is a Professor of Dental Hygiene and Program Director for the Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Dental Hygiene Degree Completion Programs at Eastern Washington University. She has served in several roles on the dental team over the past 26 years, including dental assistant, front office staff, and dental hygienist. She is a passionate health and wellness advocate, yoga ambassador and Pilates instructor. Sarah leads wellness interventions with her community, colleagues and students and is an international speaker and published author. She co-founded Abundant Life Wellness Hub to help others live an abundant, healthy life and strives to inspire positive change for oral healthcare providers by promoting health and wellness.

Dr Vincent received his DDS from the University of Missouri - Kansas City and an MS and Certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the University of Iowa.  He is a Fellow and Past President of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Research activities include modification of connective tissues by oral squamous cell carcinoma, and cellular differentiation of salivary plans tumors.

In addition to clinical practice at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for over 35 years, Dr Vincent has worked for ADA Test Construction since 1995.  He currently is a consultant in the construction of the Dental and Dental Hygiene Licensure Objective Structured Clinical Examination.

At Iowa, Dr. Vincent taught courses in Oral Pathology, Systemic Disease Manifestations, Diagnosis and Treatment Planning, Radiology, Therapeutics and Systemic Disease to predoctoral dental and dental hygiene students and graduate students. He gave lectures to Residents in Otolaryngology and directed clinical experiences for students from the College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Vincent’s clinical practice included patients referred for diagnosis and management of a variety of neoplastic, infectious, autoimmune, and idiopathic conditions.

Tija was named one of the Top 25 Women in Dentistry by Dental Products Report Magazine. 

She is a member of the American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA) where she holds the honor of Master. Tija is a contributor to many dental publications. She is the director of the Dental Careers Institute. Tija is also the author of seven CE study courses, a book on motivation; Rock Star Dental Assistant, and a Dental Compliance Calendar. She is an international speaker and is a certified trainer in nitrous oxide in several states. Tija holds certification in OSHA and HIPAA.

Trisha attended the University of Minnesota, receiving degrees in Dental Hygiene and

Higher Education. Five decades as a dental hygienist have included private practice in

the United States and Zurich, Switzerland and faculty positions at the Universities of

Minnesota, Washington, Arizona and Louisville. Nine years ago, Trisha, and colleagues

created O’Hehir University for associate degree dental hygienists to complete their BS

Degree in six months. She also completed training in Myofunctional Therapy and

Buteyko Breathing, expanding the range of preventive services provided by dental

hygienists.
