Course Description:
As the largest portion of our population ages, the demand for full mouth rehabilitation is expected to grow rapidly and significantly. Many patients may be unable or unwilling to undergo the expense and length treatment involved for full arch fixed reconstruction. Conventional and Implant Overdentures are an important option for the treatment of the edentulous arch. The problem is, most dentists do not feel confident or competent providing this treatment. When fabricated and fitted properly, they can greatly enhance the quality of life in both form and function for our patients.
This course will review a detailed, step-by-step protocol for effective and practical conventional denture and implant overdenture treatment. Innovative digital denture techniques for faster and more accurate outcomes will be presented. Attendees will learn how to evaluate and treat patients more safely with fewer complications. There will be a hands-on component utilizing implants in a mandibular model.
Educational Objectives:
Understand the clinical steps restoring with conventional and implant overdentures
Become comfortable, confident and competent with case selection, treatment planning of conventional and implant removable prosthetics
Apply simplified and accurate denture protocols in fewer visits using traditional chairside techniques and digital technology
Learn the entire process of locator attachments, denture fabrication and maintenance
Hands-on: Perform pick-up of locator housings and retention caps on your own denture model

Dr. John Zalesky
Dr. John Zalesky received his Master’s of Biomedical Science from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Biomedical Sciences. He was awarded his DMD degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine and completed a General Practice Residency at Denver Health Medical Center. Dr. Zalesky went on to complete a second year, advanced training program, as Chief Resident at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine General Practice Residency, concentrating on Implants and Complex Prosthodontic cases. Additionally, he collaborated with Head and Neck Oncology at UC Health to create a continuing education course entitled, “Head and Neck Radiation: The Collaborative Relationship for Patient Treatment between General Dentists and Radiation Oncologists.” He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Zalesky has been published in several respected dental journals.
Dentistry has been Dr. Zalesky’s ultimate career goal since a young age. His decision was reached as a result of the positive experiences he had with several dental professionals who corrected major issues with his teeth and who all became and remain important role models in his life. Dr. Zalesky enjoys the variety and challenges that each patient brings to the practice – each with their unique needs and circumstances and he is able to provide exceptional, high quality care. He performs a variety of procedures including advanced surgery, implants, Pinhole Surgical Technique, all-on-four, full mouth rehabilitation, and orthodontics. Dr. Zalesky pays the highest attention to detail and incorporates the latest technology and research into his practice. He believes in building lasting relationships with every patient.
Currently, he divides his time between his private practice and teaching part-time as a faculty at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. He is the Immediate Past President of the Colorado Constituent of the Academy of General Dentistry. He now resides as the Executive Director and Treasurer for Region 14 of the Academy of General Dentistry which oversees Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. He is a Key Opinion Leader for DEKA Dental Lasers, Carestream Dental and is a speaker for Catapult Education's Speakers Bureau. Dr. Zalesky has consistently been listed as one of Colorado’s Top Dentists by 5280 magazine and was named 2023 Top 40 under 40 by Incisal Edge magazine.
